Sagano Arashiyama a house looks over the river just out of shot. Arashiyama (嵐山) is a pleasant, touristy district in the western outskirts of Kyoto home to the famous bamboo forest often photographed. This spot is a short walk from the bamboo forest away from all the tourists. It’s a good place to sit and have a rest while taking in the sites. I can see why Arashiyama would get so popular during Sakura (cherry blossoms.) Here are the coordinates “35.015321,135.669961” just punch those into Google Maps to find it.
The area north of the Togetsukyo Bridge is also known as Sagano, while the name “Arashiyama” technically just refers to the mountains on the southern bank of the river but is commonly used to name the entire district.
